Important Technical Theatre Orientation Session:

July 1:

TECH ONE: 

Virtual Stage Management & Video/Sound Production 

  • Are you interested in virtual stage management and production techniques?
  • Come assist with the technical elements for the dance, music, or acting portions of our summer program.
  • Learn how to host and record zoom events, create breakout rooms, and develop the technical skills needed to edit sound and video recordings.

TECH TWO: 

Technical Theatre Course

  • The Fabius-Pompey Technical Theatre Virtual Summer Program will be a complete Technical Theatre course of workshops.
  • The course will begin with Week One, which will cover all elements of technical theatre, including set design, costume, lighting, props, sound, and stage management.
  • Week Two will be another general overview but include more advanced material.
  • Students who participate in both weeks will have time to learn new skills as well as dig deeper into the elements of technical theatre and design that most interest them.

We will put together a series of video & sound recordings that will be shared in a Community Watch Party in August.

 

Technical Theatre Individual Project Sessions:

  • Students who are interested in individual or small group meetings to further their technical theatre knowledge can schedule times to meet with the technical theatre teachers.
  • These sessions will be 30 minutes in length and can be designed to meet the needs of each student.
  • Anyone interested in this option should come to the Orientation Meeting on July 1st to discuss what they would like to cover during those individual meeting times.

Technical Theatre Master Classes for Theatre Educators

These masterclasses are designed to offer options for online learning lesson plans for technical theatre. By the end of each course, each participant will leave with a lesson plan that they can use for their classes. There will also be adaptations for in-person instruction discussed throughout the courses. The plan can be altered to fit the participants’ classroom needs. All programs that will be used for these classes will be free programs that work on all operating systems. The participants will be completing hands-on projects and will have the ability to ask questions during the final 30 minutes of the course. These courses are designed for theatre educators to expand their teacher toolbox.
