An actress and physical theatre performer for many years before becoming a Voice Actor, Holly continues to divide her time between stage, screen, circus, and audiobook narration. Holly records for Audible, Deyan Audio, Dreamscape, Tantor, and more. Holly loves telling stories and recently won a Kraus Performance Award as well as Best Narration in the General Fiction category!
When she’s not in the recording studio, she is on stage or screen; favorite projects include Richard II, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, the films “Here Alone”, “Gotham Blue” and “Your Loving, Virginia”, which got into 15 festivals and won 6 awards. Other projects include working with girls in Kabul for the Afghan Children’s Circus and with performers in Balan, Haiti, as well as with her ‘home circus’ Circus Culture. Holly is a SAG-AFTRA performer, a graduate of the International Dell ‘Arte School, and holds a Master’s in Theatre, Education, and Social Change. Holly is also a passionate teaching artist. Whether she is giving master classes or creating arts-at-the-core inquiry-based curricula for elementary and high schools, she is loving every minute of it. A few favorite projects have included Chaos Theory with third graders, Travelogues with ninth graders, a comic version of “Titus Andronicus” with juniors and seniors, and workshops for the annual NYS Theatre Education Association’s Student Conference. She is a recipient of the Association of Teaching Artist’s Service to the Field Award, the Tom Niederkorn Award for “Extraordinary contributions to artistic and educational programming at The Hangar Theatre “, and the NYSTEA Rod Marriott Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Education.

Lisa Drance, MA Theatre Northwestern University (Performance/Literature), MA Southern Oregon University (Theatre Production and Design), is the director of the theatre program at North Babylon High School, teaching a sequence in theatre arts. She has contributed to the writing of the CST in Theatre as well as other NYSED assessments and curricula. Ms. Drance is also a member of New York State Theatre Education Association’s (NYSTEA’s) Adjudication Team which prepares students for college auditions. Her students have attended Tisch, BU, Syracuse, Ithaca College, Fordham University, the Hartt School of Music, etc.
Laura Enslin

Soprano Laura Enslin is a highly regarded teacher and performer in Syracuse, New York. Committed to working with singers of all ages and backgrounds, she is founder of CNY Singing Garden, a voice studio offering private voice lessons, workshops and small-group classes. Laura also is co-founder of the One Voice Community Ensemble and founder of Circle Sing, both dedicated to providing opportunities for singers of all abilities.
Interested in the mind/body connection, Laura draws on her background in yoga and music improvisation to help singers find their own unique voice. “Creativity is not an exclusive club,” says Laura, who teaches all styles of singing. “Music is one way to reach our fullest potential, while making a difference in the lives of others.”
Additional teaching experience includes a 14-year stint at Syracuse University—first, in the Musical Theater Program and then the Jazz and Commercial Music applied study track. She also has taught at Nazareth College and the Eastman School of Music. Steeped in the bel canto singing tradition, Laura has studied with such luminaries as Mary Saunders Barton, Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet, Carolyn Webber, Shirlee Emmons and Barbara Doscher.
A regional soloist, Laura regularly performs with orchestras and opera companies, and is an ardent champion of new music. She earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in voice from the Eastman School and the University of Colorado Boulder, respectively

Len Fonte
Theatre
Len Fonte, who taught high school English and theater for thirty-three years in the Syracuse City School District, received his B.A. from St. John Fisher College. He holds an M.A. in Cinema Studies from New York University, and did graduate work in theater at Northwestern University which he attended on a theater fellowship. He has done post graduate work s at the University of Rochester and Texas A&M University. In 1984, he received a sabbatical to work with the Young Playwright’s Festival, an activity of the Dramatists Guild Foundation. In 1994, he was cited as a Teacher of Excellence by the New York State Council of English Teachers. In 1995, he was awarded an ESU Summer Scholarship to study at Oxford University.
Len, who directed the world premieres of Jeff Kramer’s Lowdown Lies and Reaching For Marsby, has presented workshops on teaching Shakespeare and directing and producing scholastic theater. At the first Syracuse Area Live Theatre Youth awards (SALTYs), Len was voted Best Director, Distinguished Educator, and was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award. As a playwright, his works include Melagrana, 2009 SALT Award winner Werewolf, produced by Rarely Done Productions, Wasted Bread, produced by Armory Square Playhouse, Hip/Shake (co-author with Reenah Golden) for Syracuse Stage Backstory program, the book for the musical, Road Trip, and several comedy murder mysteries. Alchemist of Light, which he wrote with Tom Bisky was seen at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival. In 2010, he was accepted into the Kennedy Center Playwrights Intensive. He is an adjunct instructor at the Syracuse University Department of Drama and wrote theater criticism for the Syracuse New Times. Currently, he writes theater reviews for the Post-Standard/syracuse.com. Len is a founding member of Armory Square Playhouse.
Kristie Fuller

Kristie Fuller is the Theatre Teacher at Indian River High School where she has developed a sequenced program in Theatre, directs 4 productions per year and coordinates the Thespian Honor Society. Some of her favorite directing credits include: Hairspray, Shrek, The Yellow Boat, Bocón, Once on this Island, Seussical, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Miracle Worker, And a Child Shall Lead, Doors, You Can’t Take it with You, The Women of Lockerbie, Almost Maine, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Laramie Project and The Diary of Anne Frank. Several of her productions have received Awards of Excellence in Directing from the Theatre Association of New York State and Awards of Excellence for Outstanding Production at the Michael J. Harms Theatre Festival. She has enjoyed teaming with Third Eye Theatre to provide a variety of ASL interpreted productions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in her community.
For over 20 years, Kristie has been the New York State Theatre Education Association (NYSTEA) State Education Liaison/Curriculum Chair working with Theatre Standards Revision, Theatre curriculum development, assessment and certification. She was the chair of the committee that developed the Theatre Resource Guide in collaboration with NYSTEA and the State Education Department. In addition, she has worked with the State Education Department on the Arts Assessment project and the development of the Theatre Certification Exam. She was selected as part of the Blue Ribbon Commission for the Arts at SED and will be the chair of the Arts Advisory panel at the State Education Department.
Her Theatre program was recognized as the Educational Theatre Association’s Outstanding School in 2007. In 2012 she was awarded the National Reba R. Robertson Award for Outstanding Theatre Teacher. She was thrilled to have been a part of the American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2013 and looks forward to returning again. Kristie is pleased to join the Summer Musical Theatre Intensive Skill Building Institute Creative Team.

Lillian Katz has been dancing for nearly 20 years and has been teaching for almost as long. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre. She has taught the performing arts in WA, ID, MA, NJ, NY, Costa Rica, and many places in New York State, including in NYC, Ithaca, and Syracuse! Lillian loves working with students of all ages, and has taught for a diverse group of organizations including Steps on Broadway, Ithaca Youth Bureau, The Hanger Theater, the Community School of Music and Arts, South Side Community Center, South Hadley MS, Perpetual Motion Dance, Fancy Feet Dance, Peridance, and most recently with Missoula Children’s Theatre. Lillian holds a BA in biology and dance from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Smith College. She has spent the past four years training and performing in NYC performing for such organizations as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, Steps on Broadway, and Peridance. She has worked with the Summer Musical Theatre Intensive Program for eight summers and loves being part of this performing arts community.

Victoria holds an MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School where she studied directing with Arthur Storch, acting with Elizabeth Kemp and voice with Dr. Christopher Arneson. Victoria also has a MS Ed in Theatre Education and undergraduate degrees in Theatre & Music from Loughborough University in England. As a member of the prestigious Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, Victoria’s stage directing highlights include locally, many new operas for especially this seasons “Pushed Aside” about Suffragettes for Society for New Music, “Driving Miss Daisy” Syracuse Stage “Al Takes A Bride “ King’s Theatre-Delavan Center for The Arts, “Vagina Monologues” Vera House Fund raising, in NYC “Sex Myths” Wollman Theatre, Asst. Musical Director for “Jesus Christ Superstar” Bleecker Street Theatre, and “Dinner With Friends”, “Waiting For Godot”, “The Seagull”, “Hello Out There”, and “Keely and Du” Actors Studio and extensively for Full Cast Audio, Armory Square Play Writes, and many local universities and schools. Performing highlights: Carrie in “The Ugly Duckling” Opera, Society For New Music, Vivian in “Church Basement Ladies” Encore Productions, Betty in the film “Impossible Choices” Media Artists, NY favorites: Hannah Mae in “A Coupla’ White Chicks” ,Circle-In-The Square-Jack Temchin, Velma Sparrow in “Bird Bath”, Dolores in “Dolores”, and Junis in “Wound of Love” Actors Studio Tishman Theatre. She has produced, directed and acted over 30 books with Full Cast Audio. Victoria is also an accomplished set and light designer and can be seen stage managing show in Syracuse including SNM, Northeast Wine and Jazz Fest, Jazz in the City, Syracuse Community Choir, On Center, Civic Morning Musicals’ In Recital Series and many other Central New York events. Along with the performance, Victoria has been the Executive Director for Symphonic Music Program for refugee students, developed a program to teach acting to high school students with Aspergers Syndrome, has taught acting, voice or technical theatre at Oswego High School, SUNY Potsdam, New School University, Actors Studio Drama School, Syracuse City Schools, Liverpool Schools, Say Yes to Education, Salt City Playhouse Theatre Arts for Youth, and Onondaga Community College to name a few. She was the Operations Manager for Symphoria for many years. Her volunteer organizations include being a 24-year member, 15-year Trustee for the NYS Theatre Education Association, a Trustee for Hydrocephalus Foundation REACH for a Cure, and a contributor to the New York State Standards for Arts Education. She is currently a member of the National Educational Theatre Association, League of American Orchestras, CNY Music Teachers Association, and serves on the Civic Morning Musicals Board, as Trustee. She also runs a successful private acting and voice studio for youth and adults.
Sabine Krantz
Vocal Music/Pianist
Sabine Krantz got her formal music degree in Oslo, Norway, in piano teaching and performance. She came to this country to marry her husband, and has since had 4 children. She has now lived in the US for 15 years, 5 years in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Syracuse.
Ms. Krantz is currently working as an accompanist for the Setnor school of Music at SU, playing about 25 recitals a year and end of semester juries. She also plays for the OCC’s music program, accompanying all the singers for their performances and end of semester juries. She also keeps a large private studio, voice and piano, and works for Fayetteville United Methodist church as pianist/organist.
She has played for several musicals at nearby high schools, and plays for choir concerts for many school districts around the area. She is busy accompanying at competitions, such as the CMM Vocal Competition in the fall and NYSSMA in the month of May.
Nancy O'Connor
Composer in Residence
Nancy O’Connor is a Sophomore at Berklee College College of Music, where she is studying Contemporary Writing and Production, with minors in Conducting and Musical Theatre Writing. She is a pianist, composer, arranger, music director, and singer. Nancy is from DeWitt, and has been involved in community theater at CNY Playhouse, The Redhouse, Rarely Done Productions, and Appleseed Productions. She is the Founding Music Director of At Rise Productions, a Central New York-based theater company dedicated to providing teenagers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of theatrical production. She has served as Music Director for several At Rise musicals, including Band Geeks (Spring 2019) and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Spring 2018).
As a composer, Nancy primarily writes musical theater-style music. She has co-written two cabarets of original musical theater music with lyricist Jared Dunn. Last summer, a production of their cabaret, Teenage Nobodies, was performed in the Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia. Nancy has also released several songs (some with lyricist Jared Dunn) on Spotify and other streaming services, including “Which Way to Neverland?” which was nominated for a Syracuse Area Music (SAMMY) Award, and was chosen for Berklee’s musical theater writing contest, Curtain Up, for which it will be orchestrated and performed in the Berklee Performance Center.
This upcoming year, Nancy will be the Music Director for Berklee’s Bechdel Theater Group, a student-run group that focuses on producing shows that feature women and queer actors and characters
Marshall Pokrentowski
Vocal Music
Marshall is a native of East Syracuse, NY. He studied music education at Ithaca College, graduating in 2018. He currently teaches General Music and Choir at Wellwood Middle School, where he also serves as the drama club advisor and director.
Marshall has several theatrical credits, both performing and as part of production staff. Recently, he directed Seussical Jr. at Wellwood Middle School in Fayetteville, NY. Last spring, he was the chorus director for Skaneateles Summer Theatre’s production of Carousel in Skaneateles, NY. He has also performed as a pit musician for various High School musical productions in the Syracuse area. Previous opera/musical theatre credits include Cendrillon (Pandolfe) and The Gondoliers (Giuseppe) at Ithaca College, and most recently A Little Night Music (Mr. Lindquist) at Opera Ithaca. As a music educator and performer, Marshall loves to be involved in theatre education and is very excited to be returning to a virtual rendition of the Fabius Pompey Summer Musical Theatre Intensive!
Susan Schoonmaker
Program Director/Vocal Music
Susan Schoonmaker graduated from Oberlin Conservatory and College with a degree in Expressive Culture and Performance then moved to Boston to begin a career as a professional jazz singer. Here, she studied voice with David Carl Olson and Dominique Eade; Jazz Improvisation with Bruce Katz, John La Porta, and Jerry Bergonzi and pursued graduate studies at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Susan worked closely with master solfege teacher Judith Ross, a protégé of Nadia Boulanger’s. She also studied “EARobics” with MacArthur fellow Ran Blake in the Third Stream Department at New England Conservatory. With her International License in Dalcroze Eurythmics and Vocal Pedagogy, Susan began teaching vocal music and performance in local private schools. She directed award-winning choirs, musical theatre productions, and summer performance programs for inner-city youth.
Upon moving to central New York, Susan worked as the vocal music teacher and artistic director of the theatre program at Hamilton Central School and received a Master of Arts in Teaching in Theatre as Moral Education from Colgate University (summa cum laude). In addition to directing the Madison County “Players for Prevention” and “Summer Shakespeare Youth Theatre,” Susan coordinated a school-wide Arts-in-Education Partnership between Colgate University and Hamilton Central School, working closely with teachers and arts professionals from the New York State Council on the Arts.
Susan currently teaches Vocal Music and Theatre at Fabius-Pompey Middle-High School, where she directs the Middle and High School Musicals. She recently received the 2019 award for “Excellence in Theatrical Education and Development” from the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS). In addition to being the Program Director for the Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, Susan continues to perform, teach private students, and work as a Shakespearean rhythmic speech coach.
Gabriella da Silva Carr

Gabriella da Silva Carr is a Proud Queer Latinx Interdisciplinary Theatrical Artist. Gabriella’s directing & producing work has been seen at the Hangar Theatre, Kitchen Theatre Company, White Plains Performing Arts Center, Ithaca College, Cornell University, and Off-Broadway. Gabriella is part of the artistic ensemble at Civic Ensemble in Ithaca, NY and previously served as the artistic line producer and artistic associate. Gabriella just finished her 2019-2020 season being on staff at the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus. Gabriella runs a private voice & acting studio for young people, is a teaching artist with the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY and previously was a performance coach with Broadway Artists Alliance in NYC. Gabriella made her Off-Broadway directing & playwrighting debut with Gaybraham Lincoln the Musical at the Hudson Guild Theater and is a New York Musical Theater Festival Next Link Project Finalist. Benjamin P. Stroh

Benjamin Stroh is the President of the company he founded, BPS Pro Audio. He serves the Central New York area with technical theatre and mobile entertainment services. Benjamin is trained and experienced in the aspects of technical theatre including, Basic Lighting, Show Production, Stage Crew, Set Design, Sound Design, and Video Projections. He has worked with multiple schools and theaters in Central New York teaching different aspects of technical theatre to students and theatre staff. He has designed sound for countless productions over his years. Benjamin began working in the technical field when he was in sixth grade at Fabius-Pompey and helped them build their program over his time before graduating.
He has been with the Summer Musical Theatre Intensive Program since 2014. Benjamin enjoys sharing his knowledge and the art of sound with the people around him and is excited for another summer.
